Power of Mother Earth

A new week...a new perspective...

I have been setting up and planning for my live Zoom lunchtime classes for this week due to physical distancing as part of New Zealand’s Covid-19 pandemic response, and had time to reminise over this photo on our trip to Paihia in Northland last Summer.

This was a world pre-pandemic BUT this was when the wildfires ravaged Australia.

This morning our earth shook with a reminder that New Zealand is situated on the most active fault lines in the world. My first thought was, “No, not the big one now on top of the pandemic!!”

You see, Mother Earth will always show us that we are not in control, especially when we try our hardest to be.

While on the beach sharing an icecream Hazel said, "The earth is already finding it harder to take a deep breath." I said, "Why?" She said, "There is more plastic since the lockdown."

Lockdown hit many of us hard; spiritually, emotionally, mentally and financially. I need to acknowledge that. But, I also want to acknowledge the feeling of quiet that I felt during Level 4. Less air pollution, traffic congestion, less consuming, less of the mindset of profit over people. More smiles between strangers, more time for 'being'. I know that there is a whole lot of grey amongst that black and white list of pros. But, it’s important to reflect - what would you love to continue in your world from your Level 4 experience?

It might sound too simplistic, and almost self-serving, but to me that means pushing my business forward to help people love their bodies, feel strong and resilient in their bodies and minds, to help people move with joy and freedom so that they can have an active and positive affect on their world around them.
