This 5-week course covers the fundamentals of the comprehensive RYC® method. Expert attention and care is given to education around optimal core and pelvic floor engagement. This course is perfect for those experiencing hip pain, back pain, diastasis recti, incontinence and prolapse.

You will learn :

  • Exercises that rebuild strength and confidence to tone, shape, and rehab the core and pelvic floor.

  • How to optimally engage your core so you can exercise in a smart and intelligent way.

  • What it means to load your body with ideal support.

  • Optimal breathing patterns for core and pelvic floor function.

This course is more than just an exercise class as its educational format means you will learn about your individual movement blindspots to enable you to get stronger, move better and get back into the activities and movement practices that you love without fear of pain, injury or discomfort.

Each week you will receive weekly video homework sessions of a short duration that can be easily slotted into your busy lives. 

In addition, you will be provided direct access to Shelley, who will make herself available for any questions that you have during and after the course, to help support you in your RYC® journey.

Your 90min initial session includes Restore Your Core® to highlight compensations and blindspots and create new patterns of movement for strength and support for your core and pelvic floor. In the session I will assess most of the following:

  • Alignment

  • Breathing

  • Pelvic mobility

  • Spinal mobility

  • Pelvic floor awareness

  • Core engagement

  • Gait analysis

You will receive a bespoke movement video with follow-up exercises and movement strategies to continue your learning and home practice.

These classes are perfect for those wanting to learn how to exercise smartly, those who experienced birth injuries such as tearing, or those who have core and pelvic floor issues such as diastasis recti, incontinence, prolapse, hip pain and back pain, or pelvic pain.

Sessions thereafter will progress your strengthening and mobility practices using Restore Your Core® teachings, as well as other yoga, pilates, mobility and functional exercise and breathing practices, with continued movement videos for your learning at home.

This yoga and movement class brings together whole body movement practices in a slow, steady and challenging class that focuses on everything that makes up the core (more, than just your abdominals!)

Incorporating Restore Your Core® teachings, functional movement practices, breathwork, strength and mobility exercises to strengthen, stabilise and support as well as find freedom and ease.

Particular attention is given to movement practices that help us to age with vitality such as bodyweight exercise and load input for bone strengthening, joint mobility and stability for the hips, shoulders, hands and feet, and balance and proprioceptive drills for visual and vestibular training.

Become a movement investigator as you challenge your brain and your body in the hows and whys of the way you move. Be prepared to lose your balance, and find your sense of humour in the process

This class is open to all, and is best suited from around 10 to 12 weeks postnatal (depending on your birth experience) unless you have had a private session assessment with Shelley prior.
